The Harvest Moon.
Oh harvest moon, you hang so densely among the clouds,
So Golden is their hue,
As if you were a lover I once knew…
With Love so ripe that I can pick and touch. and yet you are so above ….
In the sky, so high.
You dance with the stars in your height of splendor, Flirting with my spirit,
How cruel must you be, that you awaken my heart .and yet would not remember me.
For abandoned and Lost I feel, when I think of you.
Do you think of me?
Oh harvest moon,
You lighten the fields of gold and grain,
and rustle the wind in the trees and speak to the birds and the bees,
that fly high, in the sky,
and they seem to laugh at me and I don’t know why.
Oh harvest moon, how I wish I could look you in your face.
a golden pool of glory,
suspended in the sky,
singing of God’s wondrous story,
sailing low sailing high, you have kept me wondering why.
You were born with all this finery,
and yet you fill up my life with your light,
So that I may once more see,
The beauty of creation, surrounding me.
Once more this year as you sail the sky,
Touch those lonely hearts and tell them of your love.
Just tell them why.
and hopefully within their breast as you lay.
and faded into the sky.
with the dawn of a brand new day. I pray,
That God would grant me a harvest moon.
To add some joy to a darkened day.
